Honorable President Mairthreepala Sirisena has told that prices of consumer items gone high because of taxes. He said this yesterday (29) in the morning at Mahaweli Ground of Girandurukotte.

He said that he discussed about this with PM Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe also and willing to discus with economical specialists and related parties and try to give a reveal to the people.

Duty free permits given to government officers is not enough and willing to give the lost previlege, he further said. Ministers Mr. Nimal Siripala de Silva, Mr. Dilan Perera, Governer of Uva province Mr. M.P. Jayasinghe, chief minister Mr. Chamara Sampath Dasanayake, MP Mr. Thenuka Vidanagamage and ministers and members of the Uva province also participated this ceramony.
